Swingers, an adults-only mini-golf venue near Nationals Park, has closed just seven months after its March opening.

The decision was attributed to operational challenges at the Navy Yard location. The 23,000-square-foot venue occupied two floors in a mixed-use building developed by Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners.

While the location is closing, Swingers will continue operating its Dupont Circle venue, with plans for expansion in Dubai and Las Vegas in 2024.

It's unclear what specific challenges led to Swingers' closure, but concerns have been raised about the following:

  • Decreasing foot traffic in the area due to the Washington Nationals' performance.

Jair Lynch is actively seeking a new tenant for the space. Previously, the space was intended for Punch Bowl Social, but the deal fell through after Punch Bowl filed for bankruptcy in 2020.

KLNB leases the property, which also has another vacant 3,000-square-foot retail space next to F45 Training.
