Father's Day Weekend Events in Fairfax County

Concerts, Car Shows & Movie Nights

The weekend is coming up and believe me when I tell you…WE FEEL YOUR PAIN! For a lot of you, this was the first week of summer vacation for your kids and summer camps have yet to start. Luckily we have great slate of events coming up this weekend that can keep you busy.

A word to the wise…make sure to check the weather forecast before you go out. You might want to take an umbrella just in case.

Friday Night Concert Series: Capitol Riverfront

The free Capitol Riverfront Friday Night Concert Series is back on the Yards Park boardwalk! Every Friday night this summer, come to Yards Park to relax and enjoy the river view, fantastic bands, food and beverage, and a large variety of great restaurants within a few minutes walk from the park. Awesome Con DC 2023

Awesome Con is Washington DC’s Comic Con! A 3-Day celebration of geek culture, bringing over 70,000 fans together with their favorite stars from across comics, movies, tv, toys, games, and more! Event Link

Portside in Old Town Summer Festival

Kick off summer with the return of the Portside in Old Town Summer Festival sponsored by Ting Internet. This free festival features an array of live music, local craft beer from Port City Brewing Company and fun for the whole family on the Alexandria waterfront. Friday, the event features the ALX Jazz Fest presented by the City of Alexandria’s Office of the Arts, a division of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities, including readings by Alexandria poets. Fathers Day: Sunday, June 18th

Sully Annual Car Show

Bring Dad out this Father’s Day, June 18, to see over 200 antique cars on display. Classic cars will be judged, and trophies awarded. Included in the show will be restoration displays, cars for sale, tours of the first floor of the historic house, music, food, a children’s tent and a flea market! Learn about Juneteenth and little known African American inventors and patent holders in the transportation industry. Family Fun Day at The Wharf

Join The Wharf, Pepsi, the Washington Commanders and the Commission on Fathers, Men and Boys for a special Family Fun day on the water with food, live music, games, and so much more.
