Fairfax Golfer Edition, Sept. 22, 2023
What makes Potomac Shores DIFFERENT + Weekend weather forecast + Michael Jordan has a Golf Course???
But first…here’s something we came across this week that might not look pretty but it’s a super convenient way to keep your swing in check…
Announcement: Starting next week, Fairfax Golfer will be re-branding itself under the name “The 19th”. Golf in the DMV extends way past Fairfax County and we want to make sure we are accommodating as many golfers in the area as possible. Thank you for being a subscriber.
The ONLY Nicklaus Design Golf Course in Northern Virginia that is publicly accessible
Despite being hit with a major scandal this year, this Jack Nicklaus design boasts a series of challenging holes that require proper shot selection through varying landscapes, including navigation over the river bluffs. It is the only publicly accessible Nicklaus design in Northern Virginia, just 30 minutes south of the nation’s capital.
Spreading out on a hilly peninsula near the shores of the Potomac River, this upscale Jack Nicklaus Signature Design debuted in 2014.
Soon after it opened, Potomac Shores Golf Club appeared on both GolfWeek and Golf Advisor’s list of the Top Courses in Virginia. The Troon-managed facility regularly earns plaudits for its exciting and challenging layout, its scenic vistas, its course conditions, and its comfortable clubhouse.

Sorry everyone but the outlook for this weekend is not looking pretty. We hope you managed to squeeze in a game or at least a range session this week.
On the upside, if you still have an open slot this weekend you might want to check out ParCiti Golf, located on Columbia Pike in Arlington. They have 7 golf simulators for and open from 10am-12am on Fridays and Saturdays.
